At Home Services

At home visits by Au Diapason volunteers. The role of the volunteer is to offer attentive listening, companionship and support to patients and their caregivers.

Each weekly visit lasts three to four hours and is determined according to the volunteer’s availability and the family’s needs.

Companionship and support services on different units:
Volunteers visit rooms on different units at the hospital. The role of the volunteer is to offer attentive listening and a comforting presence to help patients and families at various stages of disease.

Visits on the different units are permitted during the day and evenings, seven days a week.

Companionship and support services in oncology:
This service is oriented toward hope and recovery. The role of the volunteer is to be attentive to the comfort and needs of the patient receiving a chemotherapy treatment, as well as to those of the caregivers in the waiting area, and to assist the nursing team.

The oncology service is open Monday to Thursday between 8:30 am and 2:30 pm.

At the Granby Hospital

Companionship and support services on the palliative care unit:
Volunteers visit rooms on the palliative care unit. The role of the volunteer is to assist patients and their families at this stage of illness by offering attentive listening and a comforting presence.

Visits on the unit are permitted during the day or evenings, seven days a week.
