For Grieving Children – Au Diapason’s Little Voices
Our support group for grieving children uses an approach adapted to the needs of children aged 6 to 12 having experienced the death of a significant person, regardless of cause of death and the time elapsed.
Working through grief is essential in order for a child to adeuqately process his loss and continue to develop through teenagehood and into adulthood. The group allows children to recognize and harness their many feelings and aims to support whole families through the grieving process.
Objectives:
- Minimize perceived sense of isolation;
- Create a safe space to share experiences and feelings;
- Provide tools for working through grief;
- Offer support to parents and significant people who are caring for the grieving child.
Meetings are held at La Maison Au Diapason in a setting adapted to childrens’ needs.
This service is provided free of charge.
Individual grief follow-up is also available.
