What Is Palliative Care?
Palliative care is the whole and active care of persons faced with a life-threatening illness in order to provide the best quality of life to them and their loved ones. Palliative care embraces life and deems death to be a normal process, and in no way hastens death nor prolongs life. Palliative care strives to reduce pain and the impact of other symptoms while integrating the psychological and spiritual aspects of care by offering support to patients and their loved ones.
